Tara Jaye Frank is an equity and inclusion strategist who has advised and educated thousands of Fortune 500 executives across multiple industries and large member organizations.

Her work, fueled by a deep belief in the creative power and potential of every ONE, focuses on building bridges between people, ideas, and opportunity.

Before founding The Waymakers Change Group, a culture and leadership consultancy, Tara spent twenty-one years at Hallmark Cards, where she served in multiple executive roles, including Vice-President Creative Writing and Editorial, Vice-President Business Innovations, Vice-President Multicultural Strategy, and Corporate Culture Advisor to the President.

Her most recent book, The Waymakers: Clearing the Path to Workplace Equity with Competence and Confidence (May 2022), is an invitation to all people with power and position to open doors, remove barriers, and facilitate access and opportunity for those who have been historically denied.

Tara resides in Dallas, Texas, with her husband, two of their six children, and their three dogs. She is also a proud Spelman Alumna, a member of the Executive Leadership Council and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and was named a 2022 SUCCESS 125 honoree by SUCCESS Magazine, and is listed among CORE Magazine’s 100 Most Influentials Blacks for 2022.

DEI Innovation Award

Vibrant Pittsburgh is honored to again recognize a top regional leader of diversity, equity, and inclusion with the 2024 DEI Innovation Award. This award will recognize one individual who is leading innovative and impactful DEI work in southwestern Pennsylvania, aiding in making our region more diverse, equitable, and inclusive. Accomplishments and lines of work from nominees are not specific to sector or industry. As such, innovation and impact are the two largest tenants of selection for this designation. Nominations close at noon on March 8.

Who We Are

As an economic development nonprofit that seeks to address one of the greatest challenges facing the Pittsburgh region, its aging population, and workforce, Vibrant Pittsburgh provides leadership to accelerate the growth rate of diverse workers in the region. We do this in the following ways:

 Serve as the region’s central resource, spokesperson, and convener on workforce diversity, equity, and inclusion issues;

 Amplify the efforts of members to monitor, measure, and meet diversity goals;

 Assess and compare DEI policies and practices throughout the region and offer recommendations to improve employer workplaces; and

 Cultivate experiences that are welcoming, engaging, and exciting for residents and newcomers of minority populations.

Our Values

We believe that a diverse workforce is essential to the ongoing economic vitality of the Greater Pittsburgh region. We must attract, retain, and elevate people of all backgrounds while creating an environment that is inclusive and welcoming.

The regional workforce must attract qualified and diverse talent from across the country and around the globe to be prepared for the job requirements of today and tomorrow.

The 2024 CEO Vision Breakfast will be on Thursday, May 2, 2024. Registration will open at 7:00 AM with the program beginning at 7:30 AM and will conclude by 10:00 AM

The 2024 CEO Vision Breakfast will be a live, in-person event.

2024 CEO Vision Breakfast attendance is exclusive to Chief Executive Officers, executive cabinet members, and heads of departments such as

  • Corporate Responsibility,
  • Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI),
  • Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG),
  • Human Resources (HR).
